This guide will walk you step-by-step through the process of unbranding your New model SE phone. Models supported by thise method include, but aren't limited to: w810i, w800i, k75i, w600a/i, w550i/c, ETC. As a General rule of thumb if you phone came with a DCU-60 data cable OR has the new "two prong, Fast port connection" on the bottom of the phone then you can use this method to Flash/Unbrand your phone using the total server software and the DCU-60 data cable
Remember that flashing your phone and unbranding it will remove ALL your saved data, any phonebook entries that are on the PHONE (not the sim) will be erased, as well as any save games, ringtones, images that are again saved to the PHONE. if it's on a memory card, then not to worry as the flashing process doesn't touch your memory card.
Your phone should have a FULLY charged battery (this is important and NOT optional), your phone should NOT be plugged into the cable yet. and your phone should be turned OFF to begin with.
- Download the drivers (No Login required) Once they are downloaded extract them to a folder on your computer. Your desktop will be fine. There will be a file called EPIUSB.ini right click this file and select install. This will install the driver so the cable will work with the TMS software.
OR you can simply plug the cable into the computer (without the phone plugged in) and you're computer will recognize that a new device has been plugged in.
Then when the new hardware found wizard comes up, just tell it you want to "specify location" and then point the wizard to the directory where the drivers are located. When windows alerts you that the drivers are not "signed" just click "continue anyway" That should get the drivers installed.
- NOTE: (If this step doesn't seem to work, then it means that you already have the Original SE drivers installed for the DCU-60 Cable. You may need to go into Device manager and Uninstall those drivers.
- To uninstall the original SE DCU-60 Drivers you'll need to: plug in your phone to the cable, and turn it on. Then Bring up device manager. Bring up device manager by right clicking on my computer, then click on properties, then click the hardware tab, then click the device manager button.
- Once you are in device manager click the little + next to "universal serial bus controllers" there should be a device listed as "usb flash device" or "usb storage device" This should be the DCU-60 cable, if you want to test and make sure all you need to do is unplug the cable from the computer, and it should dissapear, then if you plug it back in then it should re-appear. This step will confirm that it's the device you need to remove.
- So once you've found the device in device manager just right click and select "uninstall" this will remove the drivers from your computer and you can then re-install the TMS DCU-60 Drivers and then proceed with the rest of the flashing process.
- Now you'll download the TMS software. this can be downloaded from http://www.terminatordongle.com/remote (NO login required)
- This article assumes you already have purchased 1 TMS credit. if you have not then you can do so again from: http://www.terminatordongle.com/remote
- Now that you have your credit, and you have the software, and you have the drivers for the cable you'll need to download the correct flash files.
So click on the download button inside the TMS software, and download BOTH the FIRMWARE file, and the DEFAULT Languange file. when flashing your phone you need to flash both files. these files will be saved into the same directory that you have the TMS software in.
- Once those files are downloaded it's time to start the process. Select your manufacturer and model from the software's drop down list. and click on the flash menu button.
- Now load the FIRMWARE and DEFAULT languange files into their appropriate areas.
- Check or Uncheck the box about removing the camera shutter sound. This is a personal preference. And if removed it's gone forever.
- Click the program files to phone button and then follow the instructions on screen.
- At this point the software will ask you to press and hold the "C" button on the phone and plug the cable into the phone.
- Wait for the process to end, it could take a while. So go get a cup of cofee or water sit back and relax while your phone is flashed :)
- Eventually it will complete and your phone will be unbranded. All the carrier customizations will be removed and your phone will be like it's fresh out of the sony ericsson factory.
